My understanding of dreams

Good morning, its my honor to stand here and give you this speech about dreams. There I want to start my speech with two short stories.

The first story happened when I was in primary school, I wrote in my composition that my dream was to be a teacher when I grew up. Meanwhile, what my classmates wrote about their dreams was that he or she wanted to be a doctor, a scientist or an astronaut.

The second story happened at my first year in university. At the careers planning class, when the teacher asked about our dreams, one of my classmates stood up and said, “I want to be a farmer, because I grow up in a farmers family and I love to be engaged in agriculture.” When he sat down, everyone clapped.

These two stories happened during my growth process, from which I got my understanding of dreams. When I was a child I believed that a dream must be a big dream, but when I grow up I find this big dream is so far away from me, I know little about it, and I have done nothing to achieve it, so its not my dream. My classmates answer let me know a real dream is not just about being a great man, or doing a great job, its about what you really want to be, and are willing to try every effort to pursue it.

Because what makes a dream valuable is not just about the result, its also about the process, the process when you are trying, when you are struggling, when you failed and restarted again and again, because of the process, dreams can be meaningful and become your wealth. Thank you.

My name is Yu Xiao Feng. I’m twelve years old，I’m from Zhongba Primary School.

Everyone has a dream，Now Ill talk about my dream，What is my dream? I often ask myself.

Now I am a young girl with a new dream——to be a doctor. I want to be a famous doctor, helping the sick and saving their lives. Why has my dream changed? Well, at the age of 11 I was ill, badly ill. I had to leave both my school and my friends and go to the hospital. Every day I suffered the troubles caused by this illness.

I also saw some people who were suffering . I made up my mind to become a doctor, so that I can help the sick people and cure them of their diseases.

I want to try my best to help the poor treat an illness. I want to let them have an opportunity to receive excel-lent treatments for their illnesses without having to pay much or any money.

Ill do every bit to cure the incurable. I hope to see a world, where there is no fatal diseases. Im confident that through the joint efforts of you and me, man will put an end to his bodily sufferings and this dream of mine will one day be brought into reality.

梦想是用永恒的执着和顽强的韧劲筑起的一道铜墙铁壁，她固若金汤。有这么一个人，小学三年级便被迫辍学，认识的汉字也不多，他每天往返于家和图书馆之间，在深夜他勤奋的身影依然清晰。他日复一日的坚持写作。汗水与泪水铸就了他的成功。他就是著名的童话大王郑渊洁。试想一下，当所有人都对他表示不屑时，他没有退却，依然坚定，他只是很单纯的爱写作而已，他所做的一切，只为了心中那个作家梦。为了实现心中的梦想，他付出了多少努力，一个人，一本杂志，十三年。他笔下的贝克与舒塔给了无数孩子童年的快乐。他的梦想成就了他的人生，他的梦想，给孩子们美丽的童话。郑渊洁的生命因为有了梦想而精彩。梦想是用不凋的希望和不灭的向往编制的七色彩虹，她绚丽辉煌。

人们常说：“失败是成功之母。”但又有多少人能够面对挫折，仍然坚挺着呢?美国第16任总统林肯就是这样一个人。他出生在一个清贫的家庭，自小就十分好强，参加总统竞选多次，均以失败告终，那段时间他几乎崩溃，有一天他在窗户边看到初升的太阳，恍然大悟，决心振作起来。在林肯心中，当总统或者“为官一任造福一方”，是他一生的梦想，这条路很艰辛，当他面对挫折的时候，他没有放弃。正是梦想激励着林肯，在一次次失败后再次崛起。他所做的一切，只为了心中那个总统梦。他成功了。在他的领导下，美国人民走向了更加自由，更加幸福的生活。林肯的生命因为有了梦想而精彩。

梦想是用意志的血滴和拼搏的汗水酿成的琼浆，她历久弥香。在我心中有一个坚强的身影，她就是舞蹈家邰丽华，在她两岁那年，因高烧而失去了听力，难以想象她当时的寂寞与痛苦，在她婀娜的舞姿背后，她付出了比常人多好几倍的辛苦。台上一分钟，台下十年功。她说她爱舞蹈，虽然没有音乐，但是她用自己的心去伴奏。她是舞台上一株美丽的奇葩。她从不叫苦叫累，只是默默坚持着。她所做的一切，只为了心中那个舞蹈梦。她成功了。《千手观音》给了观众艺术的美感，她们优美的舞姿震慑了所有人的眼睛。邰丽华的生命因为有了梦想而精彩。

郑渊洁的梦想，给了自己人生一个成功的诠释，给了孩子们快乐美好的童年，林肯的梦想，肯定了自己的能力，给了美国人民自由幸福的生活，邰丽华的梦想，

让自己的人生因为舞蹈而充实，以自己的舞姿感动了千千万万的人。

大家好!

大家好!我演讲的题目是“珍惜自己”。

一个生长在孤儿院的小男孩，悲观地问院长，像我这样没人要的孩子，活着究竟有什么意思?院长笑而不答，却交给孩子一块石头，让他拿到市场上去卖，但不是‘真卖’，无论别人出多少钱，绝对不能卖。

第二天，孩子惊奇地发现，不少人对他的石头感兴趣，而且价钱越出越高。第三天，在黄金市场上，石头的价钱高了10倍。最后，当石头被拿到宝石市场上时，石头的身价又涨了10倍，更由于小男孩怎么都不卖，竟被传扬为“稀世珍宝”。

一块不起眼的石头，由于特殊的珍惜而提升了它的价值，竟被视为“稀世珍宝”。有时候，我们也就是这块石头。

也许，在我们中间，你因为天灾人祸或父母离异而身处单亲家庭;也许你的父母长年在外，没有时间照顾自己;也许你是家徒四壁，无所依靠，孤苦伶仃;也许你也曾经因为自己是一个农村来的孩子而感到自卑和不安……但是，这一切都不重要，重要的是你是否能做到珍惜自己，能否树立百倍的信心，付出千倍的努力来改变这一切。

亲爱的同学们，不论个人的情况如何，你都应当庆幸：你是独一无二的存在，这世上再没有任何人会跟你一模一样了!你有自己的同学，有自己的老师，还有自己的朋友，许多人在关心着你，注视着你，爱护着你，珍惜自己吧，他们都是你前进的力量。

So I’ll say：Concentrate upon your dreams and they will become material actualities. Through concentration we work out our dreams in physical life. We say a man is as changeable as the weather. What is meant is his dreams change. Every time you change your idea you think differently. You become like a rudderless boat on an ocean. Therefore realize the importance of holding to your dream until it becomes a reality .

Catch the star that holds your destiny， the one that forever twinkles within your heart. Take advantage of precious opporyunities while they still sparkle before you. Always believe that your ultimate goal is attainable as long as you commit yourself to it.

Though barriers may sometimes stand in the way of your dreams， remember that your destiny is hiding behind them. Accept the fect that not everyone is goimg to approve of the choices you’ve made， have faith in your judgement， catch the star that twinkles in your heart， and it will lead you to your destiny’s path. Follow that pathway and uncover the sweet sunrises that await you.

Take pride in your accomplishments， as they are stepping stones to your dreams. Understand that you may make mistakes， but don’t let them discourage you. Value your capabilities and talents for they are what make you truly unique. The greatest gifts in life are not purchased， but acquired through hard work and determination. Finding the star that twinkles in your heart for you alone are capable of making your brightest dreams come true.

So don’t think that you are neglected， or not understood， or not appreciated. zsuch thoughts are the thoughts of failure.

Don’t pity yourself， criticise yourself. You know that the only thing in the world that you have got to count upon is yourself.

大家好!我演讲的题目是《书写自己的生命传奇》。

相信大家都熟悉《西游记》里的故事吧。大家最喜欢哪一个人物?孙悟空!对，孙悟空机智勇敢、神通广大、聪明伶俐、武艺高强。那么我们能不能成为孙悟空那样的人呢?

有的同学说不能?因为孙悟空是天地所生，是神胞仙胎，并且出生在名山大川——花果山。我们是普通人，出生在平凡的地方，这就注定了我们与神奇无缘。

我们出生的地方平凡吗?在宇宙的海洋里，我们所处的太阳系和地球，是一个独一无二的奇迹，迄今为止，我们关于生命的确凿证据，只能在地球上面找到，相对于死寂的宇宙，地球不是名山大川吗?生命从诞生到进化到人类，用了几十亿年的.时间，而孙猴子若想进化成人类，还需要上百万年呢?因此，我们每个人和孙悟空一样，都是天地所生，都是宇宙的神奇。

孙悟空出生之后，和普通的猴子一样，在山中，食草木，饮涧泉，采山花，觅树果。与狼虫为伴，虎豹为群，獐鹿为友，猕猿为亲。

我们出生后也和孙悟空一样，遗忘了自己的生命原本是一个伟大的奇迹，或者说，许多人一辈子都不知道自己的生命原本是一个奇迹。

孙悟空为什么会发现自己生命中的神奇?他为什么可以做美猴王，是他比别的猴子有特别的神通吗?没有!他靠的是什么?他靠的是担当和勇气。当众猴发现水帘洞时，谁都不敢进去，孙悟空叫道：“我进去!我进去!”于是，他从此就成了卓然于同类的领袖。

孙悟空的七十二变和筋斗云是与生俱来的吗?

《西游记》中写道：“次早，悟空与众师兄学言语礼貌、讲经论道，习字焚香，每日如此。闲时即扫地锄园，养花修树，寻柴燃火，挑水运浆。凡所用之物，无一不备。在洞中不觉倏六七年。”

这一段话告诉我们，任何“神通”的修炼都需要强烈的意愿、持久的寻找、刻苦的训练、谦虚的询问和追索。

只要像孙悟空那样努力，就会有奇迹产生。因为生命的潜能是不可穷尽的。今年感动中国人物中有一个叫刘伟的青年，10岁时因一场事故而被截去双臂，他没有怨天尤人，而是用这样两句话勉励自己“我的人生中只有两条路，要么赶紧死，要么精彩地活着。”12岁时，他在康复医院的水疗池学会了游泳，两年后在全国残疾人游泳锦标赛上夺得两枚金牌;16岁他学习打字;19岁学习钢琴，一年后就达到相当于用手弹钢琴的专业7级水平;22岁挑战吉尼斯世界纪录，一分钟打出了233个字母，成为世界上用脚打字最快的人;23岁他登上了维也纳金色大厅舞台，让世界见证了中国男孩的奇迹。感动中国评委会给他的颁奖词是：当命运的绳索无情地缚住双臂，当别人的目光叹息生命的悲哀，他依然固执地为梦想插上翅膀，用双脚在琴键上写下：相信自己。

同学们，让我们记住自己的生命原本就是一个奇迹，刻苦学习，不辜负来之不易的生命吧!
